Joel has been in the financial services industry for more than 15 years. He started his career as a trader for US mutual funds, specializing in annuities. He has also provided support to client onboarding, tax advice, and retirement product discussion with hundreds of clients.

Joel further moved to the proxy voting business and spent more than 10 years with Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), focusing on socially responsible investing or (ESG) environmental, social, and governance.

Prior to joining Freedom, Joel worked as a fund administrator for Canadian mutual funds. He has also supported processing of transactions for private equity firms for the Asian market and analyzing sales and fund models for the John Hancock mutual funds.

In 2022, Joel passed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC®). During his free time, he enjoys reading prose fiction and playing Elden Ring.
