As one of only approximately 2,500 attorneys who are also Certified Financial Planners™, Chris Hynes’ education, training and experience furnish him with a unique, wholistic perspective on intricate legal and financial structures. In his role as “Advisor to the Advisors”, Chris works collaboratively with other trusted professionals—including accountants, attorneys and investment specialists—to ensure that their clients receive the most accurate and cutting-edge financial, legal and tax counsel available. Since his admission to the Massachusetts Bar almost 28 years ago, Chris has provided tax, asset preservation, financial and wealth transfer advice to thousands of individuals, businesses and non-profit entities.
In his current position as the Chief Tax Strategist for Wealthrive, Chris serves as a resource for clients seeking to keep more of what they’ve earned, saved or built. In that context, Chris brings a unique ability to simplify the extremely complex into a digestible, accessible form. As a direct result, he has empowered high net worth clients to make truly informed decisions for themselves and their heirs.
Previously, Chris was the head of U.S. Income Tax Consulting for a Puerto-Rico-based concern founded by two former Deloitte tax managers. In that role, Chris helped design, present and implement esoteric and sophisticated income tax and business restructuring strategies exclusively for U.S.-based business owners. Ultimately, those strategies helped business owners add efficiency to their business operations while simultaneously mitigating their personal income tax liability to the minimum level required by law.
During the last quarter century, Chris has been a much sought-after speaker (for e.g., in October 2016, Chris was selected as a general session presenter at the Texas-China Summit in Austin where he discussed advanced tax strategies for inbound US investment); author (for e.g., Fox Business News, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, The Journal of Personal Accountancy, Today’s Practice, The Connecticut Probate Law Journal, The American Bar Association Journal and TheStreet.com., etc.) and educator (for e.g., he has been a faculty member of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and a frequent lecturer at the Massachusetts Estate and Business Planning Council).
Most importantly, Chris is a dedicated husband and a proud father of two high-school aged boys.
